Product Details

The L-2 Jacket was born in 1945 out of a need to produce a piece which was easier to manufacture, and was less costly. Little did the U.S Army Air Corps know that this design would help to forge the image of flight jackets for generations to come. Cut from a 3/1 heavy nylon twill, this lightweight design was originally intended for flight between climate regions of 10, and 30 degrees celsius, and would become widely adopted for its warming powers and superb comfort.

The jacket’s lining comes in the form of a 50% wool, 50% nylon blend which warms without overpowering. The front fastening is an aluminium spring puller zipper, with an automatic lock and leather pull tab, while two front pockets are covered by US Government Department of Defence spec snap poppers. A further pocket and storage device sits on the left sleeve, just below the iconic U.S Air Force moniker.

Ribbed cuffs and waistband ensure the perfect comfort fit, and not ones to shy away from the finer details, the brand have included a horse hide leather tab which would have been used to attach an oxygen mask.

A great piece of military history, faithfully reproduced by this brilliant brand.
